This is so sad. Italy is terrible at protecting their monuments.
There was this gorgeous arched entrance that was torn down because the people wanted to hold horse races and the arch wasn’t big enough to ride through.
Not only is Pompeii barely half excavated, but the Italian government isn’t letting any money go towards protecting it and parts are caving in.
and now this.
